brighton makers markets

We’re returning to the vibrant heart of Brighton’s North Laine, a bustling shopping district, for our popular Brighton Makers Market – the perfect opportunity to showcase your products to both locals and visitors to the city.

This market is carefully curated to bring visitors to the market an eclectic mix of what Brighton has to offer, combining local food/drink small-batch producers, artists, makers and small businesses, so if this sounds like a good fit for you, why not apply to trade with us this Spring/Summer?

On this page, you’ll find all the relevant exhibitor info - please take a few minutes to read through ahead of applying as it contains useful information regarding pitches / what to expect etc.

3 pitch options:

large pitch (suitable for gazebo trading)

  • 3×3 OR 2.5X2.5 OR 2×2m pitch - £56 - Select this option to bring your own gazebo/table/equipment (please ensure you select your correct gazebo size in the application). You’re also welcome to select this pitch and trade without a gazebo but will be at your own risk.

Gazebos will be placed in linear lines close together.

    Limited corner options available.

Please ensure your gazebo is fit for purpose and fully secured using correct heavy duty weights, in all weather conditions, on each leg.

We welcome shared gazebo pitches as long as you both have PLI - please let me know in advance who you want to share with so I can check that there isn’t a similar maker already.

    No chairs provided.

6ft table pitch

  • 6ft Table Pitch - £55 - A 6ft table will be provided for you under a shared gazebo facing outwards. Please select this option if you have heavy items/display or need extra space alongside the table.

    Table dimensions: approx 180cm x 74cm.

4ft table pitch

  • 4ft Table Pitch - £42 - A 4ft table will be provided for you under a shared gazebo facing outwards. These will be slightly different to last year - you'll be sharing a side of a gazebo which will mean there won't be any extra space for rails etc. A browser can be accommodated depending on weather. These tables are suitable for set-ups under 30kg ONLY and therefore are NOT suitable for heavy items (e.g ceramics) or heavy displays.

    Table dimensions: 120cm x 60cm.

You may notice the way to apply to events has changed. We’re trialling a new booking system that promises to make the whole process quicker & easier!

If you’re new to Eventaly and haven’t registered with them, please check out our blog here. It’ll give you all the info you need to get started but please contact me if you have any issues.

PLEASE NOTE: Each date is looked at and considered separately. If you have applied for multiple dates but only received one invoice/acceptance email - this may be why. 6ft tables are extremely limited and proven very popular so far! If you are able to bring your own gazebo, you’ll have a better chance of being accepted.

You’ll be able to log on and see the status of each application. If you’re wondering if you’ve been accepted, please check the status before contacting me. I kindly ask you to only apply for the dates you can make, and have every intention of joining us on, if you can no longer make a specific date, please cancel your application as soon as you can - thank you.

Remember, you’ll need to create a free profile with Eventaly. Once completed, please come back to this link to apply!

CHECK OUT OUR FAQS FOR JUBILEE SQUARE TRADING:

Please note this information is solely for PAPER DAISY EVENTS held at the site.

  • Jubilee Square is an all outside paved hardstanding venue. It is completely level and designed as a public place to hold events, such as markets. It is surrounded by high level buildings (Jubilee Library, My Hotel, Retail units with offices above). The overall trading area is compact and gazebos will be placed adjoining one another with pathways around site to maximise space. You’ll need to use heavy duty weights as there are no grassed area for pegs.

  • Access is very easy by foot/car via Jubilee Street, a one way street, entry via Church Street. There are loading bays along Jubilee Street (opposite My Hotel/Tesco).

  • Yes, there is access to electricity & water. However a small additional charge will apply for electricity (set by site). Please state if required on your application with your needs/wattage and I will supply details. Please note no extension leads/cables provided, you must supply your own with PAT testing.

  • Each pitch is 3m x 3m, unless you are a table only booking (see below). Your gazebo will be placed in a linear line next to others. Please note all your products/equipment must be placed within the 3m x 3m to keep walkways clear. If your gazebo is a different size, please state clearly on application so site can be planned effectively.

  • Pitch prices can be found in the above section.

  • No, you will need your own gazebo with weights and tables/chair, UNLESS you’re booking a table only pitch (see below). All gazebos must be suitable for market trading and present no health and safety issues once erected. As a hard standing area, they all MUST be secured with effective weights at all times. If you need help setting the gazebo up, help will be on hand - just ask a member of event crew.

  • You are welcome to book a ’Gazebo Pitch’ without a gazebo but please note, no refunds will be given if weather on the day affects you being able to trade. A parasol is permitted as long as secure and fits within your pitch.

  • Yes, we have a limited number of table provided places. These will be under cover, in a shared gazebo. Your table will be facing outwards, where visitors can walk round.

These will be in place and set up for you when you arrive - all you have to do is set up your stock!

    No chairs provided.

  • Yes, but the market layout plan is designed for 3x3m pitches and space is limited. Please contact me directly with more info & what dates you can make e.g size of trailer, access needs, trading size needed and any other relevant information and I’ll get back to you to see if we accommodate you.

If it exceeds 3m x 3m there will be an additional charge. Drive on trading vehicles/trucks will need to arrive early.

  • Jubilee Square is situated in the heart of many unique independent shops, bars & eateries in the buzzing & trendy North Laines, right next to Jubilee Library and My Hotel. It’s just minutes away from The Dome/Pavilion/North Road and a 5 minute walk from Brighton Station. It is a very busy and popular area with both locals and visitors to the city.

In addition to the passing trade, you can also expect my usual targeted marketing & advertising campaign to bring extra visitors to you, it will also be clearly signed with directional boards/flag banners making it highly visible on the day within the immediate area.

  • There’s no on-site parking, but it is very close to car parks, including North Street which offers an early bird all day rate of £9 if you arrive before 9am (if you require this option you will be able to drop your equipment off before). Alternatively Brighton Station Car Park & London Rd/Provident Place Car Parks are next best options, but slightly more. Private parking spots bookable in advance through Parking Apps are an option too.

  • Yes, unless there is a weather warning combined with wind, so please plan your set up accordingly.

  • All events will undergo a risk assessment 2 days prior to trading day. If weather warnings/unsuitable weather conditions are forecast which will affect health & safety, the event will be cancelled. If possible another date will be arranged with the venue where you can transfer over to.

Failing this I will give refunds, less £15 (to help towards site deposit cost/spent advertising costs).

If we have to abandon during an event, our normal T&Cs apply found here.

  • Please contact me if you need help with payment dates.

  • We welcome applications from makers, artists, crafters, designers, vintage & upcycled, small batch & local produce and street food.

Our outside markets are still curated and our main aim is to provide quality, variety & uniqueness to visitors. We will consider small local independent traders if space allows, but priority is giving to handmade/hand produced. Sorry no MLM or franchises.

  • Yes, we are adjacent to Jubilee Library and are able to use their facilities however they only open at 10am on Saturdays.

  • Yes! We welcome your friendly four-legged friends.

  • Yes, we can accept alcohol sellers but this is subject to a TENS license, which will be required by yourself and a copy must be sent to us in advance.

  • Additional T&C's for JUBILEE SQUARE events (bad weather policy):

If we cancel due to weather, we will try to reschedule for another date at the venue which you can transfer to (free of charge). If this is not possible or you can't make the rescheduled date, a refund will be given but £15 will be deducted to help towards site deposit, spent advertising & admin costs. In order for a refund of a cancelled event to be awarded, bank details must be provided within 7 days of being requested. We will not be able to transfer you over to any other dates or venues.

All other T&Cs can be found on this page and must be agreed upon booking.
