A colourful, curated & contemporary Makers Fair is heading to Saltdean Lido this Spring.

Get ready to shop from over 50 makers, artists & small local businesses - all handpicked for their style, quality & diversity. It’s your chance for a unique shopping experience like no other, where you can meet & chat to the maker behind the brands.

Discover a range of items from textiles, homewares, beauty, skincare, candles, art, fashion, jewellery, woodwork, glasswork, ceramics - and so much more.

We’re taking over the Ballroom, Lounge, Plant Room & West Wing for a full day of inspirational creativity.

GLASS FUSION WORKSHOP

Join Bernie from Bernies Glass Creations for a fun and creative experience! Bring a friend along or come solo and learn how to make and decorate your own unique Beach Hut window hanger. This beginner-friendly workshop requires no prior experience, so you don’t need to be an artist to join in!

In this session, Bernie will begin by demonstrating the process, followed by plenty of hands-on time for you to create your own piece with her expert guidance. Bernie will provide pre-cut, colourful Beach Hut shapes for you to decorate using specialist glass paints and vibrant, crushed glass mixes to bring your creation to life.

All necessary materials are provided to create your piece of glass art, including a variety of glass colours and design options (your final piece may differ from the sample shown).

After the workshop, Bernie will carefully fire your creation in her kiln at her workshop in Worthing. Your finished piece will be packaged and shipped directly to you within two weeks.

Postage and packaging are included in the price. £35 per person.

WHIPPED SOAPS & SCRUBS WORKSHOP

Join Lois, from Brighton Rock Workshop for a fun and hands-on workshop creating your own handmade whipped soaps or scrubs!

We've all seen those captivating whipped soap piping videos making their way through Instagram and TikTok—are they harder than they look? Or can you master it on your first try? Reserve your spot now and find out!

In this workshop, you'll learn the art of creating luxurious, scented (or unscented) whipped soap and scrub. You'll be fully guided through the process, choosing from a variety of skin-loving oils, fragrances, colours, and exfoliants.

By the end of the class, you'll walk away feeling creative and accomplished, with two uniquely handmade products, customised to your personal taste.

where to find THE FAIR

 

Saltdean Lido, Saltdean Park Road, Saltdean, Brighton, BN2 8SP

BY CAR: Saltdean Lido is just off the A259 Coast road, in the centre of Saltdean. They have two car parks immediately adjacent to the Lido. SatNav: BN2 8SP

When using the car parks, please enter your registration on the tablet at reception.

BY BUS: Buses 27, 12X, 12, 14 all stop at the Lido, from both Brighton station and town and from Eastbourne. Get off at Longridge Avenue for a one minute walk

BY BICYCLE: The wonderful 'Undercliff Walk' means it's possible to cycle straight to the Lido along the coast from as fas as Hove without have to be on the road. It's a wonderful ride and there are plenty of places to lock your bike. 

BY TRAIN: There are very frequent trains into Brighton from both London and Gatwick airport. From here you can catch the bus, bike, Beryl or walk!

Accessibility - There is a lift available up to The Ballroom & Lounge. The West Wing (workshop studio) is fully accessible on the ground floor. The Plant Room is on the first floor but does have a few steps down into the room.
